Tewksbury Hospital Campus Safety Minimum Standard Requirements
Representatives Robertson of Tewksbury and Garry of Dracut move to insert the following language in the outside section;
Notwithstanding any regulation; procedure; or protocol promulgated or approved by the Department of Public Health; Department of Mental Health and/or the Executive Office of Health and Human Services, the Director of Safety, Security and Emergency Management,
The Security Team Specialists, or successor public safety employees working at the Tewksbury Hospital Public Safety Department shall have permission to use tactical defense tools including but not limited to pepper gel; batons; and handcuffs so long as the Security Team Specialists or their successors so long as they are EVADE system certified.
The Tewksbury Hospital Public Safety Department or any successor public safety agency shall always be provided with a properly equipped police vehicle, complaint with M.G.L. Chapter 90 section 7E, including but not limited to the appropriate lighting to patrol the 800 acre campus and transport patients when necessary and any other use designated by the Director of Safety, Security, and Emergency Management at Tewksbury Hospital or Tewksbury Hospital Public Safety Department Chief, or their successors.
