Amendment #1387 to H5500

Adding an Additional Week Between State Primaries and General Elections

Mr. Gentile of Sudbury moves to amend the bill by adding the following sections:

“SECTION XXXX:

SECTION 1: Chapter 53 of the General Laws is hereby amended in section 28, by striking out the following: “State primaries shall be held on the seventh Tuesday preceding biennial state elections” and inserting in place thereof the following: “State primaries shall be held on the eighth Tuesday preceding biennial state elections.”
