Mr. Hamilton of Methuen moves to amend the bill in section 2, in item 8910-7110, by inserting after “rates for participants” the following: “provided further, that not less than $250,000 shall be authorized for the Massachusetts Sheriffs Association to contract with an entity to develop, expand, support, and maintain a commercially available real-time automated victim notification system, of which $50,000 is for one-time implementation costs. The system shall integrate with county sheriffs to provide notices of justice involved individuals' change in incarceration status or custody, or notices regarding criminal justice proceedings deemed to be in the best interest of crime victims in this state and public safety.” and in said item by striking out the figures “$4,801,100” and inserting in place thereof the figure “$5,051,100.”
