Protecting Public Worker Access to Health Care

Mr. Lawn of Watertown moves to amend the bill by adding the following section:-

SECTION XX. Section 20 of chapter 32A of the General Laws, as appearing in the 2024 Official Edition, is hereby amended by inserting after the word “administrator”, in line 7, the following words:-

No physician or other provider of services shall refuse to treat an individual covered by hospital, surgical, medical or catastrophic illness coverage offered by the commission under section four, four A, ten B, twelve or fifteen on the basis that the individual has such coverage. Said physician or other provider of services who does not participate in commission coverage shall be reimbursed at the applicable out of network rate for the provided service then in effect for the commission plan with the largest subscriber enrollment.
