Amendment #180 to H5500

Moving Bellingham Jurisdiction Back to Norfolk County

Mr. Soter of Bellingham moves to amend the bill by adding the following section:

"SECTION XXX.Section 1 of Chapter 218 of the General Laws, as so appearing, is hereby amended by striking out the fourth paragraph under the caption “Norfolk” and inserting in place thereof the following paragraph: -

The district court of Western Norfolk, held at Wrentham; Bellingham, Franklin, Walpole, Foxborough, Medway, Millis, Norfolk, Wrentham and Plainville.

SECTION XXX.Said Section 1 of said Chapter 218 is hereby further amended by striking out the seventh paragraph under the caption “Worcester” and inserting in place thereof the following paragraph: -

The third district court of Southern Worcester, held at Milford; Milford, Mendon, Upton, and Hopedale.

SECTION XXX.For the purposes of all civil and criminal matters, the town of Bellingham shall be considered to be within the jurisdiction of Norfolk county."
