Amendment #282 to H5500

The United States of Readers Program

Ms. Giannino of Revere moves to amend the bill in section 2, in item 7010-1192, in line 6, by inserting after “Laws” the following: “provided further that not less than $2,200,000 shall be expended for The United States of Readers program, administered by Impact Reading, to bridge the literacy gap through increased book access in Title 1 elementary schools” and in said item by striking out the figures “$100,000” and inserting in place thereof the figures “$2,300,000".
