Amendment #309 to H5500

Local Food for Schools Program

Ms. Duffy of Holyoke moves to amend the bill in  in section 2, in item 2511-0100, after the word "shellfish" by adding the following words: - " provided further, that not less than $2,000,000 shall be expended for a Local Food for Schools Program to enable K-12 schools and early education programs participating in the National School Lunch Program or Child and Adult Care Feeding Program to purchase raw and minimally processed food from local farms, fishers and producers, including historically underserved producers; provided further, that the department of elementary and secondary education may utilize a portion of the funds to administer the Massachusetts Local Food for Schools program and to provide technical assistance"; and by striking out the figure " $10,189,910" and replacing it with "$12,189,910"
