Amendment #615 to H5500

To Upgrade Safety Equipment

Mr. Gómez of Easthampton moves to amend the bill by adding the following section:

"SECTION XXXX.

;provided further, that not less than $50,000 shall be expended to the Easthampton Fire Department to upgrade vehicle extrication equipment; provided further, that the Department’s current tools are over 20 years old and are no longer capable of effectively cutting through the advanced high-strength metals used in modern vehicle construction; provided further, that this funding shall ensure first responders have the necessary equipment to safely and efficiently perform rescues and protect public safety;
