Amendment #626 to H5500

Public Safety Employee Death Benefits

Mr. Linsky of Natick moves to amend the bill by adding the following section:  

“SECTION XX.  Section 100A of chapter 32 of the General Laws is hereby amended by inserting after the words “correction officer” in line 21, as appearing in the 2018 Official Edition, the words “and Department of Public Works employee”, which will establish Department of Public Works employees as public safety employees, ensuring that families of DPW workers are entitled to the same death benefits from the state that police and fire personnel are currently entitled”.
