Alternative Models for BH Transport

Mr. Cahill of Lynn moves to amend the bill by adding the following new section:

SECTION X. Chapter 118E of the General Laws is hereby amended by inserting after section 10Z the following new section:-

Section 10AA. The division and its contracted health insurers, health plans, health maintenance organizations, behavioral health management firms and third-party administrators under contract to a Medicaid managed care organization, the Medicaid primary care clinician plan or an accountable care organization or other entities contracting with the division to administer benefits shall provide coverage shall cover and reimburse non-emergency medical transportation for behavioral health patients. In implementing coverage and reimbursement for these services, the executive office of health and human services shall consult with existing hospital-based providers of alternative behavioral health treatment.
