Massachusetts Inclusive Concurrent Enrollment Initiative (MAICEI)

Mr. Garballey of Arlington moves to amend the bill in section 2, in item 7066-9600, by striking out the following: "provided further, that not later than July 15, 2026, the department shall select grant recipients and shall distribute a request for grant proposals subject to future appropriation not later than May 28, 2027; provided further, that not later than January 29, 2027, the department of higher education" and inserting in place thereof the following: "provided further, that the department shall distribute grant funds to recipients for fiscal year 2027 not later than July 15, 2026; provided further, that the department shall distribute a request for fiscal year 2028 grant proposals and shall select fiscal year 2028 grant recipients subject to future appropriation not later than May 28, 2027”; and in said item by inserting after "months" the following: "and provided further, that not less than $2,000,000 shall be transferred to the Massachusetts Inclusive Concurrent Enrollment Initiative Trust Fund established in section 2VVVVV of chapter 29 of the General Laws"; and in said item by striking out the figures "$4,000,000" and inserting in place thereof the figures "$5,500,000".
