Orange Line Extension
Mr. Rush moves that the proposed new text be amended in section 2A, in item 1596-2507, by inserting the following:- “; provided further that not less than $100,000 shall be expended to the Massachusetts Department of Transportation to conduct a feasibility study relative to extending rapid transit service from the current terminus of the Massachusetts Bay Transit Authority’s Orange Line at Oak Grove in the city of Malden to the Massachusetts Bay Transit Authority Rail station through Roslindale Village in the Roslindale section of the city of Boston; provided further, that not later than June 30, 2026, the department shall file the report with the clerks of the house and senate and the house and senate committees on ways and means; provided further, that not less than $100,000 shall be expended to the Department of Conservation and Recreation for a study relative to the development, maintenance and improvement of the Veterans of Foreign War Highway in the town of Dedham and the West Roxbury section of the City of Boston, beginning at the intersection with Washington Street and Providence Highway in the town of Dedham and traveling through the West Roxbury section of the city of Boston to its eastern end at Centre street in the West Roxbury section of the City of Boston; provided further, that not later than June 30, 2026, the department shall file the report with the clerks of the house and senate and the house and senate committees on ways and means; provided further, that”; and by striking out the figure “$100,000” and inserting in place thereof the following:- “$300,000”;
