Supplemental Local School District Grant Program

Messrs. Tarr and O'Connor move that the proposed new text be amended by inserting in section 2A the following new item:-

XXXX-XXXX. There shall be a Supplemental Local School District Grant Program for the purpose of providing grants in Fiscal Year 2026 to local school districts, as defined in chapter 70 Section 2 of the general laws, which will be eligible pursuant to chapter 70 of the general laws for only "minimum per pupil aid ", or "hold harmless aid", so-called, pursuant to said chapter. Said program shall provide a supplemental grant to each such district in the amount of not less than  $95 per enrolled pupil, provided that the amount of such grants shall be in addition to funding received through minimum per pupil aid allocations pursuant to the formula contained in said chapter 70, and provided further that the amounts of grants so received shall not be incorporated into chapter 70 aid calculations for subsequent years. Said grants shall be distributed in a like manner, and on a schedule, commensurate with the distribution of chapter 70 funding to local school districts, provided that the department of elementary and secondary education shall develop an accounting of all such grants, including but not limited to the total amount provided to each receiving district, which shall be filed with the Senate and House Committees on Ways and Means, and the clerks of the House and Senate, whom shall post it electronically for public inspection, not later than 60 days following the disbursement of the last payments of such grant amounts.......$49,999,999
