Identifying harmful design in social media

Mr. Scanlon of North Attleborough moves to amend the bill in section 3, in line 147, by inserting after the word “users” the following words:

“, and is curated and displayed in a manner that is deemed by the attorney general, according to regulations promulgated by the attorney general in consultation with the executive office of health and human services, to be addictive or harmful”;

and further amend the bill in said section 3, in line 161, by inserting after the word “platform” the following words:-

“, excluding data deemed by the attorney general in consultation with the executive office of health and human services to be of a personal and private nature, including but not limited to sexual orientation, gender identity, race, religion, disability, or other protected characteristics”;

and further amend the bill in said section 3, in line 175, by inserting after the word “platform” the following words:-

“, excluding data deemed by the Attorney General in consultation with the executive office of health and human services to be of a personal and private nature, including but not limited to sexual orientation, gender identity, race, religion, disability, or other protected characteristics”
