Requiring controllers to restrict their use of personal data

Messrs. Fernandes, Eldridge, Brady and Montigny move that the proposed new draft be amended by striking out, in lines 342 to 344, the words “(ii) unless the controller obtains the consumer’s affirmative consent, not process personal data for a purpose that is neither reasonably necessary to, nor compatible with, the disclosed purposes for which the personal data is processed, as disclosed to the consumer;” and by inserting after the word “collection” in line 340, the following words:- ", processing, and transfer".
