Data Minimization

Ms. Decker of Cambridge moves to amend the bill in section 1, in lines 419-421, by striking out paragraph (3) and inserting in place thereof the following paragraph:-

“(3) not collect, process, or transfer sensitive data concerning a consumer except when such collection, processing, or transfer is strictly necessary to provide or maintain a specific product or service requested by the consumer to whom the sensitive data pertains;”

and further moves to amend the bill in section 1, in lines 433-439, by striking out clause (i) and inserting in place thereof the following clause:-

“(i) sell sensitive data;”
