Timely reimbursement of cities and towns for veterans' benefits

Ms. Comerford moves that the proposed new draft be amended by inserting after section 4 the following section:-

“SECTION 4A. The fourth sentence of section 6 of chapter 115 of the General Laws, as appearing in the 2024 Official Edition, is hereby amended by striking out, in lines 24 and 25, the words 'on or before November tenth in the year after such expenditures' and inserting in place thereof the following words:- not later than 6 months after the date on which such expenditures are certified by the secretary”; and

By adding the following section:-

“SECTION 7. Section 4A shall take effect 2 years after the passage of this act."
