Parental Opt-out Process

Mr. Tarr, Mrs. Dooner and Mr. Fattman move that the proposed new draft be amended by inserting after line 23 the following new subsection (e):-

"(e) Nothing in this section shall preclude a parent or guardian from requesting that their child not be permitted to borrow or access specific library materials. Such request shall be honored by the school, provided that the material remains available to other students"; and

By inserting line 28 after the word "group" the following:- "(iv) a process by which a parent or guardian may request that their child be restricted from access to specific library materials, without affecting the availability of such materials to other students".
