Local Food Purchasing Assistance Program

Messrs. Eldridge, Mark and Keenan, Ms. Edwards, Messrs. Payano, Fernandes and Moore, Ms. Jehlen and Messrs. O'Connor, Montigny, Collins, Kennedy and Tarr moved that the proposed new text be amended in section 2, in item 2511-0100, by adding the following words:- “; provided further, that not less than $7 million shall be expended for a Local Food Purchasing Assistance Program to provide nutritious and locally-grown produce, dairy, meat, and seafood, from historically underserved farmers and fishers, for food insecure residents, provided further that a portion of the funds may be used as operating funds to distribute food through the Massachusetts Local Food Purchasing Assistance program and to administer the program"; and by striking out the figure "$11,677,101" and inserting in place thereof the following figure:- "18,677,101".
