Expansion of Know Your Rights Training for Employers and Employees

Mr. Lewis and Ms. Rausch moved that the proposed new text be amended in section 2, in item 4003-0111, by adding the following words:- “; provided further, that not less than $150,000 shall be expended for the purpose of expansion of the implementation of a Know Your Rights training program for employers and employees in both the public and private sectors; provided further that funds be expended for costs associated with expanding the existing zoom Know Your Rights program to reach employers across the state that are interested in such training; and provided further, that, subject to appropriation, funds shall be used by the Office of Refugees and Immigrants to educate employers and employees of their constitutional rights and state and federal law in the event of a raid or an I-9 audit, including, but not limited to, a breakdown of the work space into clearly delineated public and private areas for constitutional purposes, and the duty of employers to inform employees of I-9 audits unless otherwise required by federal law”; and by striking out the figure “$1,014,573” and inserting in place thereof the following figure:- “$1,164,573”.
