Preservation of Hospital Essential Services

Messrs. Finegold, Gómez, Keenan and Eldridge moved that the proposed new text be amended by adding the following section:-

“SECTION X. Notwithstanding any general or special law to the contrary, the provisions of section 10 of chapter 6D of the General Laws shall be waived for all hospitals in each year that the statewide median operating margin for hospitals is negative, as reported by the center for health information and analysis pursuant to section 8 of chapter 12C of the General Laws, in order to preserve essential services and access to patient care across the commonwealth.”
