Reporting and Clarification

Mr. Cahill of Lynn moves to amend the bill in subsection (b) of section 28, in line 294, by inserting at the end the following:-

For purposes of this subsection, ‘reasonable effort’ shall mean notifying at least one collaborating animal rescue organization and providing that organization a reasonable opportunity to evaluate whether it is able to accept the animal.

And further moves to amend the bill in said section 28 by striking out subsection (e), in lines 312 to 320, and inserting in place thereof the following:-

(e) Research institutions and product testing facilities shall annually report to the Department of Public Health aggregate data regarding the disposition of dogs and cats following the completion of research or testing activities. The Department shall publish only statewide aggregate data and shall not identify individual reporting institutions or disclose confidential business information, research protocols, security sensitive information, or other institution-specific information.
