Pet Deposit Designation

Mr. Gómez of Easthampton moves to amend the bill in Section 35, by inserting after the words “recommendations for:”, in line [insert line number], the following clause:

(i½) ensuring that all recommended policies, guidelines, and frameworks explicitly protect the housing security, civil rights, and financial well-being of residents who are sixty-two years of age or older, persons with a disability, or veterans; provided, that the advisory group shall recommend that any and all pet deposits, fees, or related financial obligations be waived entirely for said residents; and provided further, that any baseline pet financial policies recommended for public housing residents generally shall be strictly equitable, progressive, and calculated proportionally based upon an individual resident's household income and monthly rent payment;
