Annual Report on Agricultural Land Registry

Messrs. Tarr, Eldridge and Montigny move that the proposed new draft be amended in section 11 by inserting after subsection (c) the following new subsection:-

(d) Annually, not later than December 31, the commissioner shall submit a written report summarizing data from the agricultural and horticultural land registry, including trends in farmland loss, conversion, ownership, taxation status, and any other information the department deems relevant to assessing agricultural land availability in the commonwealth. The report shall be filed with the clerks of the house of representatives and the senate and the joint committee on agriculture and fisheries and shall be made publicly available on the department’s website.
