Cannabis Education and Awareness Program Reporting

Messrs. Keenan, Montigny, O'Connor and Moore move that the proposed new text be amended in section 2A, in item 1070-0841, by striking said item and inserting in place thereof the following item:- "1070-0841 For a statewide public education and awareness program; provided, that funds shall support evidence-based outreach including, but not limited to, (i) youth prevention; (ii) responsible consumption practices; (iii) cannabis-impaired driving prevention; (iv) high-potency product awareness, including, but not limited to, (a) long term mental health impacts of marijuana consumption and (b) incidents of cannabis-induced psychosis and cannabis-induced psychotic disorders; and (v) safe transport to and from social consumption sites; provided further, that not later than March 31, 2027, the cannabis control commission shall provide a report on expenditures related to and metrics regarding the efficacy of this program to the house and senate committees on ways and means, the joint committee on public health and the joint committee on cannabis policy; and provided further, that the cannabis control commission shall collaborate with the department of public health and the department of elementary and secondary education in the development of such education and awareness program ................................................................... $1,000,000".
