Equitable representation for Quabbin Watershed communities

Ms. Comerford and Messrs. Oliveira and Eldridge move that the proposed new draft be amended by inserting after section 64 adding the following section:-

“SECTION 64A. Subsection (b) of section 3 of chapter 372 of the acts of 1984 is hereby amended by striking out the words “eleven members. One member of the board of directors shall be the secretary of the executive office of environmental affairs, serving ex officio” and inserting in place thereof the following words:- “: the secretary of energy and environmental affairs, who shall serve ex officio, 1 member who is a resident of a Quabbin Reservoir watershed community as defined by the department of conservation and recreation who represents land and water resources protection and host community interests who shall be appointed by the governor”.
