Schools and Child Care Centers Water Safety

Mr. Moore, Ms. Edwards and Messrs. Eldridge, Driscoll, Collins and Montigny move that the proposed new draft be amended in section 2E, in item 0640-1008, by adding the following words:- "; provided further, that funds shall be prioritized to assist in contamination remediation of schools and child care centers including, but not limited to, improvements to the drinking water infrastructure to remediate for PFAS, lead and other contaminants; said improvements shall include, but not be limited to, the acquisition, installation, and maintenance of filtered water stations and filtered faucets that are certified to meet NSF/ANSI standard 42 for particulate removal and NSF/ANSI standard 53 for lead at all water outlets intended for human consumption at a rate of at least one per one hundred occupants; provided further, that the department of environmental protection may promulgate regulations pertaining to the implementation of this provision".
