Public hearings for public lands

Ms. Comerford, Ms. Kennedy, Ms. Howard and Messrs. Collins and Moore move that the proposed new draft be amended by inserting after section 19 the following section:-

SECTION XX. Said section 8 of said chapter 61, as so appearing, is hereby further amended by inserting after the word “land,” in line 69, the following 2 sentences:-

During said 120-day period, the mayor and city council or selectboard shall seek recommendations on whether to exercise said first refusal option from relevant municipal boards including the planning board, conservation commission, agricultural commission, finance committee, open space committee and community preservation committee, if any, and hold a public hearing on whether to exercise the option. Notice of the public hearing shall be given in accordance with sections 18 to 25, inclusive, of chapter 30A;

and by inserting after Section 21 the following section:-

SECTION XX. Said section 14 of said chapter 61A, as so appearing, is hereby further amended by inserting after the word “land,” in line 70, the following 2 sentences:-

During said 120-day period, the mayor and city council or selectboard shall seek recommendations on whether to exercise said first refusal option from relevant municipal boards including the planning board, conservation commission, agricultural commission, finance committee, open space committee and community preservation committee, if any, and hold a public hearing on whether to exercise the option. Notice of the public hearing shall be given in accordance with sections 18 to 25, inclusive, of chapter 30A;

and in line 1242, by inserting after the word “resources,” the following words:-

at the same time and;

and by inserting after Section 23 the following section:-

SECTION XX. Said section 9 of chapter 61B, as so appearing, is hereby further amended by adding after the word “land,” in line 70, the following 2 sentences:-

During said 120-day period, the mayor and city council or selectboard shall seek recommendations on whether to exercise said first refusal option from relevant municipal boards including the planning board, conservation commission, agricultural commission, finance committee, open space committee and community preservation committee, if any, and hold a public hearing on whether to exercise the option. Notice of the public hearing shall be given in accordance with sections 18 to 25, inclusive, of chapter 30A.
