Compensation for Quabbin Reservoir Stewardship

Mr. Durant moves that the proposed new draft be amended by striking out section 74 and inserting in place thereof the following section:-

SECTION 74. Notwithstanding any general or special law to the contrary, not later than June 30 in fiscal years 2027, 2028 and 2029, the Massachusetts Water Resources Authority shall annually make a payment of $100,000 to each of the towns of Barre, Belchertown, Hardwick, Ludlow, New Salem, Orange, Pelham, Petersham, Phillipston, Shutesbury, Ware and Wendell to support the role of these communities in hosting the Quabbin reservoir.
