Clarifying state and local law enforcement authority

Ms. Comerford, Ms. Edwards, Mr. Eldridge, Ms. Howard and Ms. Jehlen move that the proposed new text be amended by inserting the following section:-

SECTION X. Not later than 60 days after the effective date of this act, the attorney general shall issue guidance clarifying the authority of law enforcement officers of the commonwealth and of local jurisdictions to investigate potential violations of the laws of the commonwealth by federal agents or officers and clarifying control over crime scenes and the custody and preservation of evidence in such matters.
