Regarding State, Local, and Federal Collaboration

Ms. Edwards, Mr. Eldridge, Ms. Howard, Ms. Jehlen and Mr. Moore move that the proposed new text be amended to insert the following language following Section 1(1) Line 19:

“Any voluntary collaboration, task force, or partnership between the federal government and state and local law enforcement officers must include an agreement for all parties to abide by the U.S. and Massachusetts constitutions and agree to the provisions under this Act. Agreements in force as of the Act’s effective date that do not include the requirements imposed by this section shall be renegotiated at the earliest possible date, as permitted by law and contract.”
