Certifying Entity

Ms. Edwards, Mr. Eldridge and Ms. Howard move that the proposed new text be amended in section 15(1), by striking lines 494 through 497, and inserting in place thereof the following language:-

“Certifying entity”, a law enforcement agency, prosecutor or other state or local entity that has the authority to detect, investigate or prosecute severe forms of trafficking in persons or or other qualifying criminal activities or local agency designated by regulation of the secretary of public safety and security in consultation with the attorney general.
