SWM Amendment

Mr. Rodrigues moves that the proposed new draft be amended in section 5, by inserting after the figure “11”, in line 72 and 78, the following words:- “that provides primary care services”; and

in section 6, by inserting after the figure “1”, in line 233, the second time it appears, the following word:- “public”; and

in section 8, in proposed subsection (c) of section 9A of chapter 6D of the General Laws, by striking out the second paragraph; and

in said section 8, in said proposed section 9A of said chapter 6D, by striking out subsection (d) and inserting in place thereof the following 2 subsections:-

“(d) The commission shall provide notice of the public hearing not less than 45 days in advance, which shall include notice to the joint committee on health care financing. The joint committee on health care financing may participate in the hearing. The commission shall identify a representative sample of providers, provider organizations, payers and such other interested parties as the commission may determine as witnesses for the public hearing; provided, however, that any interested party may testify.

(e) Any recommendation of the commission to modify the aggregate primary care expenditure target and the primary care expenditure target under paragraph (4) of subsection (b) shall be approved by a two-thirds vote of the board.”; and

in section 18, by inserting after the figure “6D”, in line 545, the following words:- “that provides primary care services”; and

in section 20, by inserting after the figure “6D”, in line 602, following words:- “that provides primary care services”; and

in section 21, by inserting after the figure “6D”, in line 654, following words:- “that provides primary care services”; and

in section 22, by inserting after the figure “6D”, in line 708, following words:- “that provides primary care services”; and

in section 24, by inserting after the figure “6D”, in line 778, following words:- “that provides primary care services”.
