Enhanced Primary Care Services: Community Health Workers and Interpreter Services

Mr. Payano, Ms. Miranda and Messrs. O'Connor, Eldridge and Cyr move that the proposed new draft be amended in section 5, in proposed paragraph (2) of subsection (e) of section 3B of chapter 6D, by striking out, in line 147, the word "and (vii)" and inserting in place thereof the following;-

"(vii) employing community health workers to conduct outreach, patient navigation, care coordination and chronic disease management support for patients with complex health and social needs; (viii) providing qualified medical interpreter services, including in-person, telephonic, and synchronous video interpretation, for patients with limited English proficiency; and (ix)".
