Regional Disparities in Access to Primary Care Services

Messrs. Oliveira, Montigny, Eldridge and Cyr move that the proposed new draft be amended in section 5, in proposed subsection (b)(1) of section 3B of chapter 6D, by inserting after the words "risk adjustment, including social risk adjustment methodology" in clause (v) the following words:-

"; provided further, that the office shall consider regional disparities in access to primary care services, provider workforce availability, health outcomes and historical investment in primary care across the commonwealth and may establish regional equity adjustments or enhanced payments for primary care practices located in medically underserved areas, health professional shortage areas, gateway municipalities and rural communities".
