Facilitate Energy Siting in Municipalities

Ms. Comerford moves that the proposed new text be amended by adding the following 2 sections:-

SECTION X. Section 53G of chapter 44 of the General Laws, as appearing in the 2024 Official Edition, is hereby amended by inserting, after the word “under,” in line 2, the following words:- section 21 of chapter 25A,.

SECTION XX. Notwithstanding any general or special law to the contrary, the period provided for a local government to determine an application's completeness and the period provided for a local government to petition the energy facilities siting board to conduct the permitting review, pursuant to section 21 of chapter 25A of the General Laws, shall begin upon the date a contract with a consultant is executed, pursuant to section 53G of chapter 44 of the General Laws.
