Relative to defining social media platform

Mr. Fernandes moves that the proposed new draft be amended in lines 89 through 99, by striking the definition of "social media platform", and inserting in place thereof the following new definition:-

"“Social media platform”, a public website, online service, online application or mobile application the primary purpose of which is to facilitate social networking by enabling users to create, share, view, discover and interact with user-generated content presented through a social media feed; provided, however, that “social media platform” shall not include: (i) email, short message service, multimedia message service, Rich Communication Services or similar text messaging telecommunications services; (ii) cloud storage services; (iii) online services or applications with the primary purpose of facilitating the purchase or sale of goods or services between buyers and sellers, including, but not limited to, online marketplaces that enable users to list, search for, purchase or review products or services, where any user-to-user communication or user-generated content is incidental to such commercial transactions; (iv) an educational technology platform; (v) document viewing, sharing or collaboration services; (vi) a website, online service, online application or mobile application the primary purpose of which is collaborative software development, software distribution, version control, code review, issue tracking, technical documentation, technical support, research, professional collaboration or project management, where any user-generated content or communication is incidental to such purposes; (vii) an online encyclopedia, nonprofit knowledge repository or collaborative reference work the primary purpose of which is to create, curate or disseminate educational, reference or informational content; or (viii) a website, online service, online application or mobile application operated by a nonprofit organization, the primary purpose of which is to provide crisis intervention, mental health services, peer support, educational resources or referrals to health, legal, housing, social or other support services, where any user-generated content or social interaction is incidental to such purposes."
