Redraft Amendment 24

Parental Consent

Ms. Kennedy, Ms. Jehlen, Ms. Edwards, Messrs. Payano and Montigny and Ms. Lovely move that the proposed new draft be amended in section 1, by striking out, in line 115 to 116, the words “and (v)” and inserting in place thereof the following words:- “(v) disable the visibility or sharing of the user’s precise geolocation data with other users; and (vi)”; and

in said section 1, by striking out, in lines 132 to 135, inclusive, the words “disable the visibility or sharing of the covered minor’s precise geolocation data with other users; (iii) limit the covered minor’s sharing of content to connected accounts; and (iv) limit the covered minor’s direct messaging to connected accounts” and inserting in place thereof the following words:- “limit the covered minor’s sharing of content to connected accounts; and (iii) limit the covered minor’s direct messaging to connected accounts”; and

in said section 1, in proposed subsection (b) of section 2 of chapter 93M of the General Laws, by striking out paragraph (2) and inserting in place thereof the following paragraph:-

“(2) A covered operator may permit a covered minor to change the default settings enabled pursuant to paragraph (1)”.
