Minor Data Security

Mr. Brownsberger, Ms. Jehlen, Ms. Edwards, Ms. Kennedy and Ms. Lovely move that the proposed new draft be amended in section 1, by inserting, in line 198, after the word “platforms” the following text:- “, and additionally may promulgate regulations exempting certain covered platforms from the reporting requirements in this section based on the size and financial resources of the covered platform and the costs and utility of such data. The attorney general shall, in consultation with security researchers, ensure that such data releases are not vulnerable to re-identification or other security vulnerabilities to protect covered minors”.
