Ensuring Timely Access to RAFT

Messrs. Tarr, O'Connor and Eldridge, Ms. Edwards, Mr. Collins, Ms. Jehlen and Ms. Lovely move that the proposed new text be amended by inserting after section ___ the following sections:-

"SECTION __. Notwithstanding any law, rule or regulation to the contrary, neither a notice to quit nor a notice to shut off one or more utilities shall be required for an applicant to access assistance through the Rental Assistance for Families in Transition (RAFT) program administered by the executive office of housing and livable communities, provided that all other program requirements as established and maintained by said office are met.

SECTION __. The executive office of housing and livable communities shall promulgate any necessary regulatory changes to accomplish the provisions of section 1 no later than 60 days following the passage of this act."
