Historical Theater Pilot Program

Ms. Rausch moved that the proposed new text be amended in section 2, in item 0640-0300, by adding the following words:- "; provided further, that not less than $100,000 shall be expended to the Massachusetts cultural council to develop and administer a grant program for public schools in the commonwealth to implement historical theater projects; provided further, that grant funds may be used to partner with theatrical companies and arts and cultural organizations, cover transportation and other costs associated with providing students access to historical theater performances, and develop related curricula; provided further, that schools located in low-income communities shall be prioritized in the grant application review process; provided further, that not later than April 1, 2027, the Massachusetts cultural council shall submit a report to the senate and house committees on ways and means, the joint committee on education and the joint committee on tourism, arts, and cultural development on the implementation of the grant program, including, but not limited to, the names and locations of the grantees, the names of any theater companies or arts and cultural organizations involved, and information on the historical topics covered”; 

and by striking out the figure “$27,448,072” and inserting in place thereof the following figure:- "$27,548,072".
