Eliminating Public Utility Costs

Mr. Fattman moved that the proposed new text be amended by inserting after section X the following section:-

“SECTION X. Notwithstanding any general or special law to the contrary, for fiscal year 2027, no public benefit charges, including energy efficiency charges, residential assistance charges, renewable or clean energy programs, distributed solar charges, and electric vehicle charges, shall be assessed on electric or gas utility ratepayers in the commonwealth."
