Personal Care Attendant Program

Mr. Cyr moved that the proposed new text be amended in section 2, in item 4000-0601, by striking out, in line ___, the following words:- “; provided further, that the executive office shall convene and consult with the personal care attendant program working group established in item 4000-0601 of section 2 of chapter 140 of the acts of 2024 to identify savings in addition to those identified in the November 28, 2025 report to effectuate a gross amount of spending for the personal care attendant program consistent with the appropriation for this item; provided further, that not later than 30 days after the effective date of this act, after convening said group, the executive office shall submit a report to the secretary of administration and finance and the house and senate committees on ways and means detailing an implementation plan to ensure program spending is consistent with the appropriation for this item”; and inserting in place thereof the following words:- "provided further, that the executive office of health and human services shall convene and consult with the PCA working group established under item 4000-0601 of section 2 of chapter 140 of the acts of 2024 to identify savings in addition those identified in the November 28, 2025 report to effectuate the long-term viability of the PCA program; and provided further, that no further reductions to said PCA program may be implemented without the agreement of said PCA working group”.
