Mr. Keenan moved that the proposed new text be amended by inserting after section __ the following section:-  

SECTION __. Section 17 of chapter 111E of the General Laws, as so appearing, is hereby amended by striking out section 17, as appearing in the 2024 Official Edition, and inserting in place thereof the following section:-

Section 17. Subject to appropriation, the division may pay for the cost of medically necessary substance use disorder treatment services for a patient receiving such services in a facility operating pursuant to an agreement between the facility and the division; provided, that the patient is not entitled to the payment of such cost from any other source; provided further, that the payment shall not exceed rates established pursuant to chapter 6A. The division may promulgate rules, regulations and guidance to implement this section.
