Ms. Edwards moved that the proposed new text be amended in section 2, by inserting after item 7004-0108 the following item:- “7004-0109 for the shelter workforce development initiative, to provide pathways to careers in fields related to housing and homelessness; provided, that funds shall be expended to address barriers to obtaining and sustaining shelter employment including, but not limited to, transportation, loan repayment, tuition or certification fee reimbursement and child care; provided further, that, not less than $5,000,000 be made available to shelters contracted through item 7004-0101; provided further, that not less than $5,000,000 be made available to shelters contracted through item 7004-0102; and provided further, that not later than March 3, 2027, the secretary of housing and livable communities shall submit a report to the joint committee on housing and the house and senate committees on ways and means detailing the expenditures and hiring outcomes of the program ......................$10,000,000”.
