Supporting Healthcare Providers

Mr. Driscoll moved that the proposed new text be amended in section 2, in item 4000-0300, by inserting the following:- "provided further, the agency shall establish a 1-year pilot program to provide reimbursement coverage for Influenza vaccine to health care providers to provide immunization-related counseling, education and clinical services related to Current Procedural Terminology codes 90482, 90483, and 90484, including the provision of evidence-based vaccine education to enrollees and their families irrespective of whether an immunization is ultimately administered; provided further, that the agency shall, not later than 90 days following the conclusion of said pilot program, report to the house and senate committees on ways and means and the joint committee on health care financing on the number of providers and enrollees served, reimbursement rates and total expenditures, and recommendations on whether said program increased immunization rates for influenza and should be expanded or made permanent.”
