Ms. Edwards moved that the proposed new text be amended in section 2, in item 7010-1192, by adding the following words:- “; provided further that not less than $1,200,000 shall be expended for The United States of Readers program, administered by Impact Reading, to bridge the literacy gap through increased book access in Title 1 elementary schools”; and by striking out the figure “$100,000” and inserting in place thereof the following figure:- “$1,300,000”.
