Supporting Military Spouses

Mr. Velis moved that the proposed new text be amended by inserting after section ___ the following section:-

“SECTION ___. Section 26 of Chapter 31 of the General Laws, as appearing in the 2020 Official Edition, is hereby amended by inserting after the word “section” in line 16, the following words:

The spouse of a person who is serving on active duty in the armed forces of the United States including the Reserves of the United States Armed Forces and the National Guard and a person actively serving in the Reserves of the United States Armed Forces or the National Guard upon presenting proof from official sources of such facts, satisfactory to the administrator, shall be entitled to the preference provided for in this section.”
