Messrs. Montigny and O'Connor moved that the proposed new text be amended in section 2, in item 8324-0050, by adding the following words:- “; provided further, that not less than $500,000 shall be expended to the New Bedford fire department for personnel costs, including maintaining staffing at Fire Station 9 to keep the facility open to sustain sufficient emergency response times across the city”; and by striking out the figure “$100,000” and inserting in place thereof the following figure “$600,000”.
