AN ACT FURTHER REGULATING THE FORM OF CERTAIN INSURANCE POLICIES.
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives
in General Court assembled, and by the authority of the same,
Subsection 1 of section 2B of chapter 175 of the General Laws, as appearing in
the 1984 Official Edition, is hereby amended by striking
out clause (b) and inserting in place thereof the following clause:-
(b) It is printed, except for tables, in not less than ten point
type, one point leaded.
Clause Twelfth of section 99 of said chapter 175 is hereby amended by
striking out the introductory paragraph, as appearing in the 1984 Official
Edition, and inserting in place
thereof the following paragraph:-
Said standard form of policy shall be plainly printed and all portions
thereof shall be in type of at least ten point, one point leaded in size,
and shall be substantively as follows:-.
Said chapter 175, as so appearing, is hereby further amended by inserting
after section 99A
the following section:-
Section 99B. The commissioner may approve for use within the
commonwealth any form of policy for property insurance which is issued to
insure a business, professional or governmental operation, and which does
not correspond to the standard fire insurance policy as set forth in
section ninety-nine; provided, however, that the approved policy assures to
the policyholders and claimants protection no less favorable than they
would be entitled to under said section ninety-nine.
